Dinner-Theatre at The Casino this Summer!
“MESSHUGGAH-NUNS”, The Fifth “NUNSENSE” Adventure
Friday, August 4, 2006, tickets will go on sale in June
Hors D’Oeuvres, Dinner and Show - $35.00 per person
In this latest “Nunsense” adventure, we find the Sisters on an all-expense paid trip on the “Faith of All Nations” Cruise. After a time at sea, the ship runs into a terrible storm that lasts nearly a week. Many people become seasick including the entertainers—the cast of “Fiddler on the Roof”. All except the actor playing “Tevye,” that is. The ship’s captain, knowing of the Sisters’ show-business savvy, requests that the Sisters and “Tevye” put on an original revue. The result: “Meshuggah-Nuns”!
Supporting the ACS at The Culinary Carousel!
The Casino and Snappy Chef Catering are proud to present a few of our chefs’ specialties to benefit the American Cancer Society at the Culinary Carousel. The event brings together many of the area’s restaurants, serving specialty items, for all guests to enjoy. Join us at this year’s event at the Ramada from 4-7pm. Call ACS for tickets – 695-9232.
“Grand” Renovations in our Grand Pavilion
Phase one is done! After 12 weeks, we have completed decorative work on the central ceiling in the Grand Pavilion. Over 600 handpainted tiles have been installed and are highlighted by a new array of chandeliers and historically rendered structural support beams. Make a point to look up when you’re in the Grand Pavilion (and don’t trip!). Phase two is scheduled to begin sometime in July with no interruptions to any events…wait to see what’s to come!
Our Employees in The Community
Congratulations to Victoria Mirenda, Sales Manager at The Casino, for receiving the Spirit Award by the National Pageantry Magazine program. The Spirit Award is given to those who promote friendship and sportsmanship in the pageant industry. The Award was presented at this year’s pageant by Mrs. PA 2003 Jodi Cessna, who praised Vicky’s help with the state pageants the past three years.
Sue Cobler, Sales and Marketing Coordinator, taught the Junior Achievement program, “Our Community”, for four weeks in Mrs. Caporuscio’s class at Frankstown Elementary School in Hollidaysburg.

The Casino and Snappy Chef sales team was busy at Bridal Shows that kicked off right after the New Year, including the Hot 100 Bridal Fair held throughout the entire Casino facility.

Brides and grooms at shows we attended in Altoona, Johnstown, State College and Bedford got a sampling of our delicious food and lots on information about our expertise in creating wonderful wedding reception memories, along with rehearsal dinners and showers. Pastry Chef Terry Wallace displayed his wedding cakes at each show. If there’s a wedding in your future, call us at 944-6775.
Getting in the Spirit!

The Casino wait staff donned Curve baseball shirts for the Chamber Breakfast Club whose theme was Altoona Curve day heading up to opening night at Blair County Ballpark. The Chamber also head its annual FanFest the night before with more than 400 guests coming to The Casino to meet the Curve players and get autographs.
